Salt n' Pepper Popcorn, made with Plateit Salt n' Pepper 'Spice Bag' Seasoning

Cinema popcorn is engineered to make you buy a second bucket. This does the same job for about forty cents, because the MSG in the seasoning is doing exactly what MSG is for. Butter first so the powder has something to cling to, otherwise it all ends up at the bottom.

10 mins. Makes one big bowl.

Ingredients

  • 100g Popping corn
  • 1.5 tsp Plateit Salt n' Pepper Seasoning
  • 50g Butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp Neutral oil

Method

  1. Oil and three kernels into a heavy pot with a lid, medium high heat.
  2. When those three pop, tip in the rest, lid on, and shake the pot every 20 seconds.
  3. When the popping slows to one every few seconds, off the heat. Lid stays on another minute.
  4. Into a big bowl. Melted butter over in a thin stream, tossing as you pour.
  5. 1.5 tsp of Plateit Salt n' Pepper Seasoning from a height, then toss again. Taste, add more if it needs it.

Do this: Season from high up. Close range and you get three loaded kernels and a lot of bare ones.
