Japanese Peanut Rayu

(1 products)

Our best seller, and it is not close.

Toasted peanuts, sesame, garlic, soy and dried Korean chilli in oil. That is the whole thing. It is crunchy, it is savoury, and the heat arrives at the back of your throat a moment after you have swallowed, builds, then leaves without making a fuss.

Rayu is Japanese chilli oil. The peanut version is the one that turned a niche condiment into something people keep two jars of. Spoon it over noodles, fried eggs, rice, dumplings or congee. Stir it through butter and toss it with hot udon. Eat it straight off the spoon, which you will.

First at Mr Chilli ANZ in 2024 and 2025.

If you have not used it before, start with what rayu actually is.

Contains peanuts, sesame and soy. 180ml, made in small batches on the Central Coast, NSW.
