Fried chicken is already good. Hot honey is already good. Together they are one of those combinations that makes you wonder why you ever ate them separately.
4 hours marinating, 30 minutes cooking. Serves 3.
Ingredients
- 6 chicken pieces, thighs or drumsticks
- Buttermilk, to marinate
- Flour for coating, seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic powder
- Oil for frying
- 3 dessertspoons Plateit Hot Honey Drizzle
Method
- Marinate the chicken in buttermilk at least 4 hours. Overnight is better.
- Drain and coat in the seasoned flour. Press hard.
- Fry at 170°C for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on size, until cooked through and deeply golden.
- Rest on a rack 2 minutes.
- Drizzle the Hot Honey liberally. Eat immediately.
Tip: The Hot Honey goes on at the end. Add it before frying and the sugars burn. Two minutes out of the oil is the window. The honey hits the hot crust, loosens, and runs into every ridge.
